Eliza at 16 Months

Being in and out of town the past several weeks has really put my blogging off schedule. My plan is to get caught up before the baby comes.

Two weeks ago Eliza turned 16 months old! She is growing so quickly and learning so much. She is learning so many new words in English and lots of others in her own language. There are too many to list now. One of her favorite new words is "read." She loves to read and be read to. She brings us books and insists "read, read." She even will sit for the entire book quite often. She is a smart little lady who is usually pretty well-behaved too.

Here are a some pictures to give a little glimpse into her world:

Eliza likes to dress up. She picked out this outfit herself.

Eliza is a pretty brave eater. Here she is eating a peach even with the fuzz. She also recently climbed on the counter to get a tomato which she ate like an apple. Her favorite food, though, is probably still cheese.

Eliza likes her slide (which a got for $1 at a yard sale), but her favorite part is the ladder. Sometimes she just goes up and down the stairs.

Eliza loves shoes. She likes to try everyone's shoes on, as well as wear her own. She also likes putting shoes on other people.

Eliza really likes sitting in big people chairs (though we still usually use the booster seat). She does pretty well usually, though she needs frequent reminders to sit down on her bottom.

Eliza loves wrestling and playing with Daddy when he gets home from work.

Eliza loves sunscreen (and lotion or anything else she can smear all over her body). With skin like hers, it is a good thing!

Eliza loves working outside with Daddy. If he is hammering, she hammers too. If he is climbing the ladder, she is right behind him.

For a while Eliza wasn't a fan of swings, but lately it has been her favorite part of the playground.

I can't believe you got that slide for a dollar! I've been looking for a slide at garage sales and so far all I found was a play gym with slide for $100. NO sale.
