Joshua at 4 months (Update due in February)

[I actually drafted a post for Josh back when it was really due, so he gets a legit monthly update for last month, unlike the other kiddos, though photos are limited to what was on the memory card.]

Joshua is a great smiler and has a contagious giggle. He smiles at all the strangers who are inevitably commenting on his hair.  The other kids love having conversations with him. 

Until about a week ago, he only scheduled a poopy diaper once every 3-5 days.  When the long awaited (and feared) dirty diaper arrived, it was always something to write home about.  Not a white spot in the diaper.  Often (but surprisingly not always) the outfit was seriously involved.  About a week ago, Joshua decided to change the numbers around and give us 3-5 poopies per day.  We're fine with whatever, just something to note.

This past month, Josh has been interested in grabbing things, like the toys hanging above his bouncer or anything fabric.  He likes to hang onto the neck of my shirt while I nurse him.

I'm guessing Joshy is teething since he's slobbering all over the place these days.  The other kids got teeth around 4 months, so I won't be surprised if he has some teeth break through any day now.

Josh's well baby checks are a few weeks behind, so he was actually about 4 and a half months at his appointment.  He weighed 18 lbs 3 oz.  That was more than I expected, but it definitely validates my aching back!  His length was 26 1/8".

Josh has been congested for a couple weeks, though he is getting much better now.  We started putting him to sleep in his car seat (leaned back a little in the pack-n-play bassinet) so he would be at an incline.  It helped him sleep better.  Lately he has been having a hard time getting back to sleep when he wakes up at night.  After I feed him and try to lay him back down he screams and has a hard time settling back down.  Because I'm such a zombie I end up letting him sleep with us.  He sleeps great in bed with us, but I sleep terribly.  It's a vicious cycle.  Hopefully by next month's update we'll be over this one.
