Whirlwind Summer Part 3: Being Homeless and Saying Goodbye

We closed on our house three days before Mike flew to California to take the Bar.  That left us, well, homeless.  Thankfully we have AMAZING friends.

We stayed at the Noonans' (while they were out of town) until Mike left for California.  Then we stayed at the Newtons' while the the husbands were taking the Bar.  It was really nice to hang out with a friend whose husband was taking the Bar too.  Every evening when we heard from them, we shared stories of Bar-taking adventures and prayed hard that the daddies did well on their tests.  We got together with the Cromars and Marrs to help survive the time without daddies.

When Mike got home, we moved into the Skousens' place for about a week.  They were so kind to let us stay there while they were out of town.  It was a perfect place to unwind from months (well years, really) of studying and just relax.

We spent a few more days with the Noonans.  The kids have a blast together and we love spending time with Monica and James. I'm sad that we never got a picture with our families together.  I don't think I even have a picture of me with Monica (ever), which is sad.

We hired some movers for the price of  an ice cream cone each to pack our ABF truck.

They really knew how to get the job done.

After the little movers did the muscle work, Mike made a few logistical final touches to get everything to fit in the smallest amount of space (since you only pay for the space you use).  We were happy to have used less space than our estimate.  Mike is amazing!  He tied things off really well so nothing broke!

These little guys weren't much help as far as moving goes, but they sure are cute!

Champaign wouldn't have been the same without these Law School Wives (and the others not pictured).  I couldn't have asked for a better group of friends to go through law school with.  Really.  I cherish their love, support, friendship and all the great memories.  We had great neighbors and wonderful friends at church.
