Family Pictures

When we moved out to California, we left behind some talented photographer friends.  We were eager to get some new family pictures taken (where Josh isn't a newborn) for Mike to put up in his office and to use on our Christmas cards, so we took matters into our own hands.  We didn't even leave home.  We set up our own shots here on the property and had Mike's brother Jonathan behind our camera.

It was hard to get the kids all looking the same direction (let alone smiling) when there were cousins running around (much more interesting to look at than a camera).  It was also a bit chilly.

Overall we were pleased with the outcome!

In hindsight, it was dorky to have us stand right smack dab in front of this tree (that was my lame idea).  Oh well.  The kids aren't looking anyway.

We tried a few individual shots of the kids after the family ones, but they were all pretty much pictured out.

Caleb is still working on defining his posed smile.

We put Josh in an old rickety wheelbarrow, but he wouldn't stay put, so we called it quits.

But not before we got this classic tongue sticking out shot!
