Josh's 2nd Birthday Party

I took too long coming up with a theme for Josh's birthday party, so it wasn't as well-planned as some of our other parties have been.  Oh well.  He still had a blast.  We had a puppet show and some stories, along with a bean bag toss game, but everyone's favorite was playing in the dirt.

So we played in the dirt.

And all the kids were in heaven!

We had soups and salad for dinner and some peanut butter bars with chocolate frosting for dessert, hence Josh's not-so-tidy-pre-cupcake face.  I'm sure there's some dirt in there too.

Whenever we mentioned his birthday coming up, Josh would say "Sing Happy Birthday.  Blow candles out."  This was the moment he had been waiting for!

 Random cupcakes.

Mike did "Goin' on a Bear Hunt" with the kids.

And then he took them on a real bear hunt.  We found a teddy bear picnic that happened to have a basket with bear frosted cookies (didn't get a pic, but they were cute and yummy) and gummy bears.

We didn't do presents at Josh's birthday.  Instead, we had guests bring canned food which we donated to the local food bank.  My parents sent Josh a scooter, though, and he loves it, as you can tell.  for the first couple days, he didn't realize that it could also be a mode of transportation, so he would carry his scooter around.
