Eliza at 6 Months

Things have obviously been a little crazy in the past month. I better squeeze a 6 month post in here before Eliza turns 7 months (on Saturday)!

Eliza celebrated her half-birthday on September 4th. During this month, Eliza...
  • rolled over from tummy to back (she had done it the other way at the end of the previous month)
  • started sleeping on her tummy and side (which made mom nervous)
  • made her first cross-country drive (and was an absolute angel)
  • got her first runny nose :(
  • started saying "ma ma ma ma" and said it nearly constantly for about 2 weeks
  • started sitting very well on her own
  • had her first "solid" food (rice cereal) on her half-birthday (and loved it)
  • is allergic to Illinois, it seems. Her eyes, as you can see in the pictures, are red and goopy.
At her 6 month well-baby check, she weighed 22 lb 12 oz and was a little over 28 inches long. I use the umbrella stroller all the time since she is so heavy to carry around. She also rides in shopping carts now. She wears 12-18 month onesies and dresses (Below she is pictured in 6 month onsies that are way too small. Bad planning on my part... our stuff was in storage for a month) and 18-24 month pants and sleepers (capris actually work best because the fit in the waist, but aren't too long).

I didn't take very many pictures this month. Since we were staying with friends, I never thought to get the camera out, but here are a few shots:

She is so cute and chubby!! Love her stylish headband!! Hayden’s eyes get itchy and watery in the fall and spring, it has to be some sort of allergy but we have really never found out what it is. Poor Eliza, hopefully as she grows she will become immune. Love the picture of her on her daddy’s lap….
