Family Update: Baby, School, Easter

We're way overdue for a little update!

In case you aren't adept at reading ultrasounds (and you didn't read the comments of the many who are), we are having a BOY! Baby Bean (no, we aren't really naming him Bean) is due August 17th! The timing is perfect for us! I am so happy that the baby will come before Mike is back in school. It will be so nice to have his full attention! For those of you trying to do the math, I'll make it easy for you. Eliza and Bean will be about 17 1/2 months apart. They will only be a year apart in school.

We limited our summer job search to the local area, to make the having-a-baby thing easier for everybody. Mike was fortunate to find a job here for the summer, which will even extend into the school year as a part time job! In other good Mike news, Mike was accepted into the MBA program here, so he will be doing a joint JD/MBA degree. The joint program is 4 years. He is finishing his first year of the law side now. Next year (starting in August) he'll do his first business year. The last two years will consist of classes from both disciplines. He is excited!

Everyone is asking how I am feeling (a typical pregnancy question). The answer is "great." I'm at the easy part of pregnancy where I'm not tired and sick anymore, but not yet big and uncomfortable. I generally feel productive during the day (or guilty for not being productive because I don't have a good excuse).

Eliza is walking like a champ! It was 3 weeks ago when she decided that she wanted to walk for real. She has improved every day since then. It is quite amazing to watch how quickly she is advancing. We can't get over how cute she is and how grown up she is becoming. I won't go into great detail of her accomplishments and funny stories, because she'll have a 14 month post soon enough. Just know that she is as adorable as ever.

Here are a couple family pictures we took on Easter. I made Mike's matching tie (which is crooked in the picture where you can actually see it) the night before so he didn't feel left out.

This wasn't an official belly shot, but it may as well have been. I'm just wearing regular, non-maternity clothes here, so mostly I just look big, not necessarily pregnant. That will come soon enough, though. I am a day shy of 23 weeks here.

I better show you a shot of Bean's face, since all you have seen so far is... well, inappropriate if he were anywhere other than the womb. Here you see his face on the right side and his belly on the left side. His right hand is just above his face.

And an Eliza picture for good measure:

You can reference this year's bunny shot with last year's bunny pics of Eliza.

Well, sounds like things are going well! I am glad that Mike found a job and that he got into the joint program. That is really neat. And I think it's great that you're having a boy! He and Eliza will be really close. =) Congratulations on everything! Oh, PS, you look a LOT like your mom!

Jill said the comment above and this one. It won't let me comment as a google account.

Congrats on the boy! How exciting. I am jealous that you and Darbie now will have one of each. But we are excited for another little boy too. : ) And you are so awesome doing all that sewing and making cute outfits for you and Eliza and an awesome tie for Mike. I wish i had those kind of skills.

Ha! You guys are too cute in your matching outfits! I love the bunny ears! we miss you guys so much! Congrats on the boy! I'm glad you're feeling well. And having a toddler is a GREAT excuse for not being productive! I use it all the time. :)

You are super-mom! Way to go on the matching outfits. I'm pretty good at sewing scrunchies.

I'm glad you're feeling good with the pregnancy and excited you're having a boy! In a couple years our boys will be playing together no problem. (you know, since you'll be living in China by then) Okay, after Mike finishes his program- very cool by the way. All right maybe I should just send you an email. Great update!
