Happy New Year 2010

The start of each year we like to take time
To sum up the last one by way of a rhyme.
Two-thousand and nine was full of much joy.
The highlight was meeting our new baby boy.

Caleb Wade [last name] made his grand debut
The 17th of August, the day he was due!
We’re grateful the hospital is not very far.
If twenty more minutes, he’d’ve been born in the car.
Nine pounds and six ounces and twenty-one inches,
A head of blonde hair and cheeks that need pinches.
He’s giggly and friendly and smiles all day long,
But don’t let him grab you—his grip is so strong.
Eliza just might be this boy’s biggest fan;
She loves to hold him whenever she can.

Eliza’s a big girl; In March she’ll be two.
She loves imitating; she does what we do.
She washes the dishes, does laundry and cooks,
She takes care of babies and reads lots of books.
Climbing, and dancing, and playing all day,
Her energy’s something that won’t go away.
She’s very smart and she talks really well.
You’ll see on our blog we’ve more stories to tell.

The first year of law school is already done.
Now Michael is having some MBA fun.
He likes what he learns in both kinds of classes;
He’s nearly half done! How quickly time passes.
In summer he started a new job at school—
He looks at inventions, decides what is cool.
Professors’ ideas and products that are new
Must pass by his desk to get a review.
He also takes time to work with the scouts,
Each month they go camping without any doubts.
Of all the great things that he’s done and he’s had,
The thing he likes most is just being a dad!

Stephanie feels like her job is the best,
Though it’s lots of hard work, not much time to rest.
Cooking and canning, preparing the meals,
She also makes time to find lots of good deals.
When things calm down and she has time to spare
She’s sewing and crafting, but free time is rare.
She loves her role as mom and as wife.
Can’t think of a better way to spend her life.

We can’t forget Lily. This year she’d be three.
We’re happy to have her in our family.
We’re glad for the truth that our family can be
Together forever through eternity.

We’re loving our life here in the Midwest;
In school, work, friends, and family, we feel very blessed.
We know that our Father in Heaven is kind;
We pray that he grants you his blessings divine.
May this year be happy and joyous for you
And health and good cheer be yours the year through!

Two and a half years left for Mike’s joint degree,
And then there’s no telling just where we will be.
