Caleb at 13 Months

Caleb isn't walking on his own yet, but he loves to cruise around in other ways.  At 13 months, he doesn't like to take steps on his own, but he gets around pretty fast holding onto things.  If he's really in a hurry, he'll crawl.

Caleb loves to climb onto the rocking chair in the kids' bedroom.  He gets onto the chair by grabbing one of the back slats (it's an old wooden rocker that belonged to my dad's mom) and pulling himself up.  He sits down, hold onto the arm rests and rocks vigorously.  After about 20 seconds he slides down and gets on again.  He does this over and over. (I'll have to get a picture next month).

Caleb loves to explore!  I have to watch him closely though, or he will eat all the wood chips.

Caleb's hair was getting pretty shaggy, but we picked a bad, no-nap day to cut it.  He wasn't very cooperative, so his shaggy hair just turned into bad-haircut hair.  We still haven't fixed it.

Caleb enjoys playing in the yard and at playgrounds.  He is the perfect age for this little slide (that I got at a yard sale for a dollar last year).  He climbs the stairs by himself.  He loves to hang out on top, but will slide down with a little coaxing.

I'm surprised I don't have more pictures of Caleb in this Cars shirt.  Eliza (who chooses Caleb's clothes nearly every day) always picks this shirt for him.  It's definitely one of my least favorites.
Caleb looks tiny in the tire of a combine!  We got a tour of farm equipment when we camped at the Marrs' Farm.

We went camping the first two weekends in September.  Caleb slept about as well as he does at home (which was way better than I can say for Eliza).

I found these pictures on the camera and thought they were funny (apparently Mike took them while I was sleeping in on Sunday morning).  He said that Eliza dressed him up like this.  He doesn't look overly thrilled.

Caleb has fun driving around on our back patio.  I left him unattended for a few minutes once, and he drove himself up to a chair and stood up on the car's seat to launch himself onto the chair which he nearly tipped over.  Occasionally he gets a little road rage, but he is generally even-tempered.  He definitely loves to be held (except during church, of course).  He is super ticklish.  Eliza knows this and likes to tickle him too.  We often have to remind her that places like Caleb's eyes aren't ticklish.

Caleb is a messy eater!  He loves bananas, grapes, sandwiches, frosted mini-wheats, and ice cream.

Caleb can spot ice cream from a mile away.  He is definitely my kid!

Here's an action shot of Caleb waving "bye bye" (and Mike making a goofy face).
