After Mike was sworn in, he was on his own to bring in his own clients. We figured there wouldn't be many estate planning, small business, or real estate clients coming in to see him between Christmas and New Years Day, so we decided to take the week off and head south. Between Mike and I, we have four living grandparents. We saw all of them this month, hence, "The Great Grandparent Tour."
Our first stop was Arizona.
We had fun raking with Grandma under the pecan trees. We also picked up lots of pecans and helped to shell them. Eliza is wearing the tie to her new robe as a scarf.
The kids had fun making more room in the trash can.
Grandma's tickles make Joshy laugh. Earlier he climbed up on a stool and took a spill, which resulted in that nice rug burn between his eyes.
Grandma didn't want me to take this picture because her hair wasn't done and she was in her robe, but I wanted to remember her patience in reading (the same book multiple times) to my monkeys.
We went to see the lights at the Arizona Temple one night. It's so nice that the temple is so close.

Lately our kids have had the worst awkward "cheese" smiles.
So we told them just to laugh. And now Josh is the deer in the headlights.
I was wishing we had brought a stroller since Josh is such a tank to carry around, but Mike took him when he wasn't taking pictures.
I think the blue lights in the back look like a giant Jello mold.
Whitney, Jacob, and Chelsea came up to Mesa to visit us while we were there. The kids had fun playing back behind Grandma's house (where the old machine shop used to be). The kids spent lots of time building with rocks and bricks on Saturday, but we didn't get pictures until Sunday morning.

Notice anything funny in this picture? I don't know if I've mentioned before, but Caleb always, always points with his middle finger. It is just more natural for him, I guess. We have tried to encourage him to use his pointer finger, but he continues to flip the bird (and no, he doesn't know that it is bad... otherwise it would be obvious why he persists).

You should send me those pictures with Chelsea! You guys have a great camera! I wish we could have spent more time when you were here! I guess you'll just have to come visit again! Love you guys!
