After having pancakes and watermelon for breakfast, the kids were eager to check out the ping pong tables and the pool. Just days before (inspired by a favorite episode of the Backyardigans), Caleb was asking when he could play ping pong, so having a rec room with a ping pong table was especially exciting. The kids decided that it is harder than it looks, but they enjoyed trying.
The pool was too cold for my liking, so I stood in the hot tub and watched Mike and Grandpa swim with our three little fishies.
After the pool (before we had to checkout), everyone took a bath or shower (even though we were headed for the beach). When Grammy and Grandpa arrived, they told us that the pump for the well had gone out the day we left for Tahoe, so we had no water back at home.
Eliza enjoyed the jetted tub. The boys weren't big fans.
The smoke had dissipated quite a bit, so the view was much better than the day before.
The kids were eager to get out in the canoe. They took turns and were very brave.
Josh insisted on having the paddle. See how Mike sits on the seat and I sit on the bottom? It is super tipsy to sit on the seat in that little canoe. At least the water wasn't crazy choppy like it was the first day.
We even convinced Grammy to go out with Grandpa in the canoe. They went twice!
We had fun digging deep into the sand until we hit water.
Then everyone wanted to bury Daddy.
So much for those baths! There's nothing like having sand in every crevice of your body!
