Mike's parents have a small orchard of fruit trees including apple, peach, plum, cherry, apricot, and a few others. For one reason or another, most of them have not produced much. This year, however, has been quite a productive one.
We watched these cherries ripening for what seemed like forever. One day when we were working in the garden we saw (and heard) the tree covered with birds. The cherries weren't even ripe yet. We helped Grammy cover the tree with bird netting so the cherries could finish ripening.
Eventually they were ready to pick!
The kids loved helping pick the cherries until every last one made it into the bucket...
or a mouth!
