Eliza takes naps again! Since I became pregnant I have needed a nap. At first I would just take a nap during Caleb's nap while Eliza would stay up, but now she and I lay down together and nap on my bed. Sometimes when I have something pressing to do, I'll get up after she falls asleep, but usually we both rest together. Now that she is used to naps again, on days (like Sunday) when she doesn't get a nap, things get pretty crazy.
Eliza and Caleb are getting better and better at playing together. It is so sweet (most of the time) to see them interact. They really do love each other.
Eliza picks up on new words and phrases all the time. Sometimes she asks what things mean and other times she just figures things out and adds it to her lexicon. The other day she came to me laughing and said, "I made Caleb embarrassed!" She doesn't get the meaning exactly right all the time, but we are constantly impressed at how close she gets.
Eliza likes getting her hair done lately (most days), though the pictures below aren't a good representation of that. Sometimes she will even ask me to do her hair without me having to ask her first. She wants me to make her hair "more beautiful." She loves the way her hair gets really long when it is wet in the bathtub. She likes to choose her own accessories (and clothes) which often don't match.
Eliza has been working on her "cheeeeese" smile lately, so we have some pretty interesting pictures. Besides the goofy smile, she is often not looking at the camera when she is cheesing.
Eliza hasn't really grasped the concept of coloring in the lines yet. I'm thinking that I might have to overtly teach her. I thought it was something she would just figure out on her own.
Eliza likes to borrow the camera with permission (otherwise we keep it up high where the kids can't get to it) and take pictures of great subjects, like her feet. You can see that her big toenail is still black from dropping a marble rolling pin on it a few months ago.
Eliza likes to dress up and accessorize. Sometimes she forgets important details like a shirt.
Sometimes Eliza volunteers to change Caleb's diapers. He totally cooperates better for her than for me.
Eliza wrote some letters from her name and proudly showed me the "L" "I" and "E" she made. She really likes her "E"s to have lots of lines on them.

Grace does the same thing with her E's! It's funny how they do that sometimes. :) Unfortunately, Grace is a bit more difficult to write...her letters don't always come out looking much like the actual letters that they are.
Wow, does she change poopy diapers too? I'd love to have another diaper changer around here. That'll be nice for you when the new baby comes.
