Joshua at 3 months

This little guy is growing up so fast.  I can't believe he's already over 3 months old!  He's not a newborn anymore!  He smiles and laughs.  He follows people (and other interesting things) with his eyes.  He gets out of a swaddle like a little Houdini.  He talks a lot, especially when Daddy comes home and loves on him.  He also makes the cutest little sighing sounds when he sleeps.

Josh has been doing some Bumbo-sitting lately.  He often joins us at mealtimes this way.  He likes being on the table amidst all the food and action.

We (I) call him "Joshy Squashy" or "Squishy Squashy Joshy Washy."  What can I say.... I'm a rhymer.

Josh isn't on any sort of schedule, except that he is inevitable wide awake and ready to play when we are ready for bed.  We can't be upset with him though, because he's so cute and talky and giggly.

It's hard to get him to sleep sometimes, but once he's asleep he does pretty well.  He'll sleep for about 4 hours, wake up to eat, then sleep for 2 hours, eat, then sleep again.  He takes lots of random short naps during the day, but if I swaddle him and put him in his car seat he will sleep a lot longer than he will anywhere else (except maybe on my lap).  He still sleeps in the pack-n-play bassinet that is right next to my side of the bed.  I love that I don't have to get out of bed to feed him or put his pacifier back in eight hundred times before he falls asleep (I'm not complaining... I'm thrilled that he actually takes a pacifier... the others didn't).

This kid has so much hair!  He hasn't lost any.  It just keeps growing.  It's a little unruly and gets greasy when it isn't washed every couple of days.  The part in front of his ear is already down to the bottom of his ear lobe and the front goes past his eyebrows!  I'm not quite ready to cut it though.  It's shaggy, but still cute.

It gets a little wavy when it's wet.  I bet if it were summer (= super humid in Illinois) it would look like this all the time.

While Joshy is pretty good-tempered, he has plenty of moments where he does this (see above).  We will still keep him though!

Joshua was blessed by his Daddy on January 8th.  Grandma Melinda and Grandpa Monte came for a whirlwind visit for the occasion.  I didn't get any individual photos of him in his little white outfit.  I made him a white tie onesie and some flannel-lined fancy pants (I made Caleb a similar outfit when he was blessed, except with shorts and short sleeves).

After noticing his hair, people always comment on his big blue eyes.

I love the giggle!

A front-loading washing machine provides entertainment for kids of all ages!

Oh my goodness, he is a mini-Caleb! I love that he sits in that little chair watching the washing machine! So cute!
