Happy Birthday Eliza

 A couple of days before her actual birthday, we had a little party for Eliza at the indoor playground, just like we did when she turned 2.  It's convenient to have a free, indoor place to do parties when it's too cold to do them outdoors.  The kids love it.  The only downside is that the lighting is absolutely horrible for photos.

I had a hard time coming up with a theme and Eliza is cool with anything as long as she gets to blow out the candles and eat the biggest cupcake.  So I decided to do a butterfly theme.  It's not the cutest thing I've ever done, but the 2- to 4-year-old crowd didn't complain.

Simple treats.  Should have brought a tablecloth to cover this nice red table.  Oh well.  Instead of gifts, we had friends bring food to donate to the food bank (which is what the box is for).

Chocolate covered pretzels with a sour straw of sour patch kid in the middle make easy butterfly cupcakes.

I made a big one especially for the birthday girl.

 I covered the tables in butcher paper and scribbled out some butterflies for the kids to color.  Eliza and Scarlett spent quite a while on their masterpieces.
 

 And enjoyed the time to just giggle together.

 That chunky naked baby being held by my friend Sara is Josh.  I don't remember exactly what happened to his clothes, but I've got a pretty good guess.

On Eliza's actual birthday, we had a little family celebration.  I went to make a cake and realized we were out of eggs!  Since it was Sunday, I whipped up zucchini brownies with some shredded zucchini I had in the freezer.  They are delicious and don't take eggs!  Perfect!

 Which was not appreciated.

So we lit them again!
