We didn't travel before Christmas this year. Mike didn't have finals backing up the the holidays (hooray for law school being finished). Christmas was so much less rushed. It was nice to have time for some pre-Christmas fun.
We decided it would be fun to make ornaments for our little tree instead of getting out all of our ornaments. My plan was to do a different kind of ornament each day as a craft project with the kids. It didn't quite happen that way, but we still had fun and made lots of ornaments.
The kids loved rolling and cutting basic salt dough ornaments.
Once they were cooked and hard, we painted them. Caleb kept calling them cookies and really wanted to eat them. (He is quite a meticulous painter, by the way.)
Our Christmas party at church was themed "A Night in Bethlehem." We had fun dressing up and eating pitas and chicken on the ground. Our family sang "Joy to the World" and "Silent Night" and I accompanied on guitar. (I had no idea the fabric I draped over myself for my costume was so bright salmon until I saw this picture.
I helped the kids make some special gifts this year. For their granndpas, they made bean mosaic frames for them to take to their offices. I didn't seem to take any pictures of the kids in action.

These costumes rule! And those ornaments look pretty good. I would want to eat one too!
