Caleb Lately

Here are a few things about Caleb lately:
  • We don't watch many movies or TV shows, but Caleb can sure quote the ones we do.  Sometimes he will randomly quote a line from a movie and ask what it means.  Half the time we don't even know what show it's from or what it means either.  Sometimes it's lack of context.  Sometime's it's because he's repeating sounds he has heard, but not actual words.
  • Caleb still loves ropes.  He is always tying someone or something up.
  • We are trying to encourage Caleb not to pick his nose.
  • Does potty humor come natural for kids at this age or is it just my kids?  When Caleb gets mad he calls me "stinky underwear with wee wee and poop" or something to that effect.  I'm sure glad my kids don't know any actual bad words.
  • Whenever we see a wild turkey when we're driving around, Caleb wants to get out and chase it.
  • When Caleb gets frustrated with something he says "oh bother" which he must have got from a Winnie-the-Pooh book that we have.

Caleb gets pretty creative when he is in charge of family night treat.  I bet you've never had corn tortillas with honey, unshelled peanuts, clementines, craisins, country crock and nutella-type spread.

Caleb was excited (despite the awkward goofy smile) to show me what he sewed with Eliza's sewing kit.

Caleb is always working on something using tools.  Josh is his shadow.  Josh is wearing s Dr. Seuss hat that Eliza made at school.

Caleb likes to ride his bike.  He has a bigger one, but still rides the smaller one.

Caleb loves getting geared up to go on adventures.  He brought me a leaf and asked if it was poison oak.  I told him it wasn't.  Then, he wiped it all over his face, waited a couple of seconds, then said "Yep!  You're right!"
Caleb was doing some intense watercolor painting the other day.  He told me he was going to sell them.  He explained, "They are going to cost $1... no $7... no eight cows."
