Pumpkin Patch

The kids and I went with some friends to a cute little pumpkin patch. Mike was sad to miss it, but he had a few meetings at school. Eliza and I picked out some cute pumpkins and gourds to adorn our porch and house.

It was chilly out, so I bundled up the kiddos.

Eliza was so excited to play with (beat on) the giant pumpkins.

There were lots of colors and sizes.

There were even some with gourd-type acne that were very cool.

It was a tough decision, but we finally chose some that would come home with us.

Sadly, after a few days, our pumpkins were devoured by the man-eating squirrels that live in our yard. Okay, so I've never actually seen them eat a man, but after eating last year's garden, our tulip bulbs, heads of surviving tulips, a bag of trash (that I set just outside the back door for Mike to take out when he got home), and our festive pumpkins and gourds, I don't put anything past them. They even ran off with some of my gourds, including the cute one that looked like a swan. Seeds everywhere. Grrrr.

Bummer about the squirrels! That would be truly annoying. Sounds like you had fun at the pumpkin patch though. We're hoping to take our kids to a pumpkin patch here this weekend.

Oh wow! Those are some annoying squirrels. Maybe you need a cat or dog.

Yay, I can't tell you how happy I am that my computer is letting me post a comment on your blog! It has been months, but not for lack of trying. First of all, Caleb is adorable, and I have to say that he reminds me somewhat of Hayden when he was born. He had that same sandy blonde hair and lots of it! I love the pics of the pumpkin patch. Eliza is darling as always. Good to see pics again!! Love you guys!!
