Eliza likes to turn the faucet on full blast when she's washing her hands or brushing her teeth. The other day I told her that we should only use a little bit of water because we have to pay money for it. It must have made an impression because she brings up that we have to buy the water almost every time she uses the faucet. When we use the water, she reminds us to just use a little bit.
The other day after dropping Daddy off at work, Eliza is throwing a small fit.
Eliza: "I want my Daddy! I want my Daddy really bad!"
Mommy: "He has to go to work so he can earn money so we can buy food and clothes and things."
Eliza: "He has to get money so we can buy lots of water to brush our teeth."
A few days later, Eliza finds a nickel on the piano. As she proudly places it in my hand she says, "Here's a money so I can buy lots of water." I chuckle a little as she runs off to the bathroom. She turns the water on full blast, then comes back out to the living room. "Wanna brush your teeth mom?!"

ha ha! That is great. I love the way kids think. :)
I love it! Isn't it funny what things our kids seem to really latch onto, even though there are so many things we try to teach them everyday.
