When my dad offered to drive the kids and me in his new motor home out to my brother's wedding in Utah, he made some comment about everyone either wearing diapers or being absolutely potty trained. I assured him that Eliza was totally potty trained and had been for 9 months, but he thought she should wear a Pull-up (diaper-like training pants, for those of you out of the potty training loop) just in case. I was worried that I would send mixed messages (like telling your teenagers not to have sex, but giving them condoms).
He suggested that I advertise it to her as a bum warmer. She wore it over her panties to "keep her bum warm."
It worked like a charm. She didn't complain or take offense. She put it right on so her bunsies wouldn't get cold.
The funny thing was that when we were done riding in the RV (after meeting Mike in Wyoming), Eliza kept insisting that her bum was cold and so she needed a bum warmer. We humored her.
She didn't have a single accident during the two and a half week trip.
The other funny thing was that Caleb's bout of the stomach flu the first night in the RV was way worse than a little dribble of wee wee would have been. I guess next time he may require a mouth warmer of sorts.

LOL that is hilarous about the bum warmers!! I am going to have to use that one...and that is awesome that she didn't have any accidents!! Now maybe you can come try to potty train my two boys, I am beginning to think its never going to happen (and if the autism gets worse with wade as he gets older it just might not, but hopefully so..)
Love it!
This is laugh out loud funny. I love stories like this!
