Eliza at 42 months
Eliza is a silly little lady. She likes to make silly faces, say silly things, and tell silly stories. She can also really get Caleb going and then our house is practically exploding with silliness. I have no idea where she gets it. She is always accusing me of being serious because I'm not bouncing off the walls with her (little does she know that there was a day...). One day in the car she was trying to teach me how to be silly (because "it's way more fun than serious"). She pointed at a white house and prompted me, "Mom, now say 'Look at that blue house.' Isn't that silly?" We were silly by mistakenly pointing out house colors for the rest of our drive.
A slightly disturbing anecdote from this month:
When we got home to Illinois, we cleaned up lots of spiders and evidence of spiders. One evening, Eliza came to us and said "There's a dead spider in my room." Mike went to check it out, expecting to find a plain old dead spider. Instead he found a dead spider body with spider legs strewn all around. When he inquired about the dissected legs, she said, "It was distracting me and Caleb, so I broke it."
At dinner, I asked Eliza what songs she sang in nursery and she told me that she learned a new song today. "How does it go?" I asked, expecting a few words or a theme. Instead she proceeded to sing the entire song. After dinner we recorded her singing it.
Oh, about the dress she's wearing in the video... My mom dropped by for a night on her way to New Mexico and she brought Eliza this dress that she sewed for me when I was little. Its style may be nearly 30 years old, but I though it was sweet that Eliza could wear something I wore at her age, and even more special, something that my mom made!

Grace asked to watch that video a couple times and giggled. She thinks that's a fun song!
Love the spider story! Disgusting!
