Ward Talent Show
I told Eliza what a talent show was and asked her if she wanted to recite the apple poem for the upcoming church talent show. She said she really wanted to do it. I was just planning on putting her on the program that night (in case she backed out), but they announced that the program was full and they weren't taking in add-ons. I really wanted Eliza to participate since I had talked it up so much and she was really excited. I figured since it was only 20 seconds long she could do it while my guitar number was setting up. It worked out perfectly and she did great! She loved that everyone clapped for her.
Mike was trying to wrangle Caleb while filming, so it's a little shaky at the end.
My guitar students Jeanna and Shelly and I played and sang "Down on the Corner." We threw it together after 2 months of no lessons since I was gone all summer. I thought they did great. I did the bass riff (on my regular guitar), but I should have had it miked better because you couldn't really hear it.
I got lots of comments on how enormous I look and how it must be awkward to play with my big belly. I should have made it a point not to stand sideways. Oh well. I usually play sitting down and my belly doesn't get in the way too much. Having my guitar rest on my belly when standing does put my guitar at an awkward angle.
