- Caleb is our little comedian. He makes up jokes and says funny things all the time. He usually follows up with "Was that funny mom?" He thinks it is hilarious to talk about putting anything on his head.
- He has a great imagination. The scenarios he comes up with almost undoubtedly involve some form of fighting the bad guys. When I ask him where he learns all this fighting stuff (because he doesn't watch TV or play video games) he says " from the scriptures."
- Caleb loves playing with tools, especially real ones. He likes to help Dad or Grandpa with projects and he often concocts projects of his own.
- Caleb is obsessed with flashlights and headlamps. He will do just about any job if he can use a flashlight to do it. He has lost and/or used up the batteries in so many of our lights. He really wants his very own headlamp, but we are holding out until Christmas.
- Caleb loves to play outside and is very interested in animals.
- Caleb loves playing with Josh. He always pretends to go camping with him. Caleb makes a tent out of the nearest pillows and blankets and invites Josh to come in his tent.
- Caleb learned the phrase "it's not fair" a few months ago. We are trying to teach him what it means because now it is just a vain repetition that happens any time he is upset.
- Caleb has one volume and it is LOUD. We are really trying to teach him to use an indoor voice and a whisper.
- Caleb can recite the first three Articles of Faith. He also knows lots of songs and memorizes quite easily.
At his 3-year-old checkup, Caleb's stats were:
Height: 3 ft 2 7/8 inches
Weight: 37.8 pounds
Caleb stopped omitting his initial /s/ sound at some point, though I don't know when. It's been a while though. He still says some things cute that I want to remember:
-amimals
-chwildwen
-fambly
Here are some pics of Caleb this summer and fall:
Caleb has a very cheesey smile lately.
Sometimes it's a Kool-aid smile.
He is warming up to animal (or should I say "amimals").
Riding Grandpops in Utah.
Riding his cousin's bike in Wyoming.
He was thrilled when he got his own second-hand bike for a late birthday present (pink training wheels and all). He loves to ride his bike. Especially with his knee pads.
Sometimes he tows the local fire engine. He found this wired remote firetruck in Grammy's garage and figured out how to tie it to his bike himself.
Caleb's birthday (which I wrote about here) was right when we arrived in California.
Caleb really has enjoyed visiting Great Grandpa (though usually it isn't in the hospital). I think their senses of humor have helped them bond.
Caleb was very proud of how he made his bed (well, at this point it was just a mattress) himself and requested a picture.
Just his silly Sunday self.
Riding around with a wrench in hand. So typical.
