Not long ago, my aunt and uncle sold their house in Tahoe and bought a walnut orchard an hour north of Sacramento. We were eager to see their new place so we took a little weekend trip to visit them! We had a great time!
Eliza and Caleb LOVED riding the quad with Uncle Kevin. Mom and Dad rode the other quad and Debbie rode her bike. We took several rides through the orchard to turn the irrigation off and on. We had fun dodging the sprinklers and getting a little wet!
At first the kids were timid (read: terrified) of the dogs and cats, but eventually they made friends!
Eliza liked throwing walnuts for the dogs to fetch. And the dogs loved it.
Kevin put the kids to work.
But since it was using real tools, they loved it.
Just down the street (walking distance) is a boarding stable for horses. Debbie knows them and helps clean stables for them, so she showed us around. The kids, especially Eliza, loved it.
The also have some goats, which the kids enjoyed petting.
They were very friendly with us.
And Joshua was there too!
We had a great time! Kevin sent us home with some fresh walnuts which we are enjoying. As a kid I never really liked nuts (probably because my dad didn't like them, so we never had them), but I am really starting to like them!
Thanks for a really fun time Kevin and Debbie!
