Easter 2013-- Sunday

I wanted to take pictures before we did Easter baskets, egg hunts, and candy, but it was raining outside, so we settled on Mike's parent's living room with the timer on our camera.  The light and background have something to be desired, but here we are anyway.

I love planning and making special Easter outfits for the kiddos.  Once again, I used fabric and notions I already had on hand.  I got them done early (as in before the night before), so Mike suggested I make something for me for a change.  I went back and forth about it, but with Mike's encouragement and help (he did the cutting), I made a skirt with a tie-around sash.  I also made a little purse for Eliza and a bow tie and pocket square for Mike.

By the time we got done with pictures and everyone changed clothes (holey jeans even), it stopped raining and was gorgeous!

Mike hid the kids baskets and made a scavenger hunt to find them.  The kids had fun finding and following each of the clues.

Since we had the community egg hunt the day before, Josh knew exactly what this egg collecting was all about.

Josh loved the Peeps (and all the other edible things, for that matter).

I love Easter.  Even more than matching outfits, egg hunts and Cadbury creme eggs, I love celebrating the resurrection of the Savior.  I am grateful that through him we will all have new life.
