Mike was there, too. There is no photographic evidence that I was.
The dress Eliza is wearing is one my mom made for me when I was little. Eliza liked having her bonnet hang down on her back. She said, "Remember in Little House how Laura didn't like to wear her sunbonnet, so she let it hang on her back, but Mary liked to wear hers." I was impressed that she remembered that little detail because it wasn't anything we discussed, just something she picked up from listening. We have read the first 3 books in the series so far and we are all loving them. Even Josh will pick up Farmer Boy and say "Famma Boey" and go sit on the couch and flip through the book.
Josh devoured several slices of watermelon (as well as three hot dogs and a Sno-cone) and soaked his shirt in the process.
A profile view of Caleb's "Sun Cap."
Eliza learned to appreciate the washing machine. She also made a little cornhusk doll (I guess I was too busy helping her to take pictures).
We covered our ears for the cannon.
Eliza and Caleb learned that teamwork pays off in the dangling doughnut game.
Wouldn't this be great at wedding receptions?
Josh had an even better plan.

Our ward didn't do anything for the 24th, so I made something up and had a fun party...yours looks pretty fabulous! I love the sun caps and the bonnet!
