Caleb at 4 years

It's long past time that I write about Caleb.  He is growing up so fast and is full of personality.

Here are a few things that stand out to me about Caleb lately:

• Caleb loves helping Dad and Grandpa with work projects in- and out-side the house.
• Caleb LOVES adventure.  He goes "bear hunting" whenever he can and brings home new bear swords (large straight sticks) all the time.

• Caleb rides his bike to get from here-to-there all the time (and always parks it right at the top of the steps down to our basement entrance.
• Caleb LOVES creating things and taking things apart.  If you even think about grabbing a screwdriver, Caleb will appear from out of the blue and won't leave your side.

• Caleb has an awesome memory.  He can recite long books word-for-word, which comes in handy when I ask him to read to Josh.  He also will correct you if you don't read something right or if the grammar is incorrect.

• Caleb loves ropes and strings (cords, robe ties, anything that he can tie knots with).  He ties things up, pulls things, hangs things, attaches things.  I am always undoing crazy knots to get my stuff back that he has tied up.
• Caleb likes making traps to catch animals.  He has watched grandpa set traps in the garden to catch skunks and raccoons, so he knows how traps work.

• Caleb loves to dress up.  He uses a combination of clothes from the dress-up bin and "found" items to get the look he is going for.  He can turn just about anything into an accessory.
• At any given time Caleb is probably wearing some type of headwear (hat, helmet, etc) and eyewear (swim goggles, work goggles, cardboard glasses, etc).

• Caleb is a good buddy for Joshua.  Now that Eliza is at school, these two boys spend the morning together.  Caleb often pretends to be Josh's dad

Caleb was thrilled with the real tools that he got from Grandma Melinda and Grandpa Monte.  

Mike is also excited that Caleb won't have to keep begging to borrow all of his tools.  Caleb's slightly seductive look in this picture cracks me up.  (and Josh is saying "cheese")
