More Time Than Money

For the first time in our married life, we have no income. We have never been "poor college students" before. Anyone who knows us knows that we're naturally frugal, though when it comes to computer components, outdoor gear, and some electronics we are spendier. Now that we're living on loans and savings, we're trying to be extra careful about how we spend our money. Ideally (meaning it sure doesn't happen all the time, but it's a nice idea), as I think about making purchases, I try to decide whether this purchase is something I am willing to pay interest on (buy with our money that actually came from a student loan). This helps with impulse buys.

Lately, I have learned all about using coupons in conjunction with sales and promotions to get items nearly free, free, or actually making money on the transaction. We don't get the paper, but there are plenty of coupons that can be printed online.
