Our April Fool

We didn't do anything too extravagant for April Fool's Day, but we managed to get my little brother pretty good, which is always worth bragging about.

My brother Derrick, who just got married in December, has been asking me when we are going to have another baby since Caleb was a few months old.  That might sound obnoxious, but it's nothing to get worked up about if you know my brother.  He's just like that.  I thought April Fools would be a perfect opportunity to give him a call and announce a new niece or nephew.  He was thrilled.  I think I was even able to bring it up before he asked (as he always does).  He kept asking details and I was afraid he didn't realize what day it was.  When we said goodbye, I told him "Happy April Fools Day," but he still didn't get it.

Apparently, several hours later when he was spreading the news to his wife, he started putting things together and realized that it might be a joke.  He tried to call me but we had already gone to bed.  He called other family members, but I had warned everyone.  The next day he called to say he knew it was all a big joke and he admitted that I got him good.  The message he left was priceless.  I win!

But the best part of the joke is the part he won't know about until he reads this post... that the joke wasn't really a joke!
