Eliza at 39 months

Eliza turned 39 months just as we left Illinois for the summer (not that we really keep track of the months, except for this blog/ family history purpose).  She is an energetic, smart, and curious little lady.

Eliza is fascinated with Sunbeams, the class at church for children who are 3-4.  The classes change each January. Since Eliza was still 2 in January, she is still in nursery until next January, but many of her friends who are just a few months older than her are in Sunbeams.  Eliza pretends to be in Sunbeams all week long.  When she sees illustrations in the children's song book, she tells me that those kids are in Sunbeams.  She constantly asks when she gets to go to Sunbeams and asks what the kids do in Sunbeams.  I know some kids have a hard time with the adjustment from Nursery to Sunbeams/Primary, but I am confident that Eliza will be welcoming the change.

Eliza loves Caleb so much.  A little too much, Caleb might say.  They are at great ages for playing together.  Eliza does the imagining and lets Caleb know what his role is.  She talks to him like he is her own age usually. Sometimes she will pronounce things in syllables to teach Caleb to say long words.

The kids like to play in the shed for some reason.  Here they are playing with gravel and ants.

Eliza showing Caleb a "movie" on an old Spanish translator (post bath jammies and wet hair).  I thought this was especially interesting because neither of us have smart phones or ipods or anything like that.  Somehow she picked up that you can watch movies on small electronic devices.
