Caleb at 22 months
Caleb has taken a huge interest in the play lawnmower. Huge. He has it with him from sunrise to sunset. We have a bedtime ritual of putting the mower in the mudroom and telling it "night night" before bed (so that he will loosen his grip and let it go). First thing in the morning, well, after demanding "food, food" he says "mow." He hangs it on the back of his chair when he comes to the table to eat. Sometimes he will carry a baby doll in one arm while he mows with the other.
Caleb loves to sing and play music. He picks up on songs easily. We go to a kids music class at my friend Shelly's house and I am constantly impressed with how much Caleb sings and participates.
A couple weeks ago, Caleb came up to me pointing at his nose saying "nose, nose, nose" and I said "Yep, that's your nose." When he persisted I said, "Is there something in your nose? Is it a booger?" He affirmed that there was a booger in his nose. I tried to help him with it and quickly realized it was much more than that. It was pretty tricky to hold his head still and keep his arms down while I carefully used tweezers to extract the foreign object without pushing it further in. Do you know what it was? A dry garbanzo bean, the perfect size to get lodged in a toddler's nose. I have no idea how long it had been there because I remember him saying "nose, nose, nose" when I was putting him in his car seat earlier that day.
Caleb loves babies. Since we have been in California, he has met two new baby cousins. He adores them and holds them every chance he gets. He is very ready to be a big brother.
Caleb loves helping Daddy. We tore out the drywall in the master bathroom of Mike's parents' house and Caleb was right there helping us. He also likes to clean and put things away. Here he was using the toilet brush to clean debris off the throne.
